Accounting: write a qualitative and quantitative analysis of a company

Obtain the financial statements from General Motors Company (GM) and write a two page analysis following the format below. The qualitative and quantitative analysis should include a discussion of the financial ratios, the financial statements and current news.
Format:

Page 1 and Page 2: Written analysis
Typed using Times New Roman font, 12 point, with 1 inch margins, single spaced
English use, grammar and spelling will be considered in the grade, as well as the analysis  of the company and the calculation of the financial ratios
Page 3: Work Cite Cite all sources in MLA format 
Page 4 and Page 5: The financial ratios calculated in an excel spredsheet
Page 6-9, Page 10-12: Attach the company’s financial statement for 2 years(eg: 2017& 2016 in onset and 2016& 2015 in the second set)

1 Page financial ratio exhibit: 

Calculate the key financial ratios-including liquidity and efficiency, solvency, profitability and market prospects ratios
Create 1 page summary spreadsheet exhibit that calculates your company’s financial ratios for the last two years from two years of annual reports. Clearly label each ratio, show the calculation of each ratio, and the resulting ration. These ratio should provide the basis for your analysis of the financial performance of the company

2 Page company analysis: 

Write a 2 page narrative analysis of the chosen company summarizing your analysis of the company. Include the following section heading and discuss each item. 

Summary of the company

Write a brief (2 to 3 sentences maximus) description of the company. If there is a significant ownership interest by one individual, this should be includes (eg: CEO owns 80% of the company)

Financial Ratio Analysis 

Interpret the ratios calculated above and whether they are good or bad and why. DO NOT just state the ratio and how it is calculated 

Recent Company News

Summarize any key company events that might affect your decision to invest in the company. (eg: recent acquisitions, management change, earnings report, lawsuits, or significant change in operation)

Company Strength

Discuss the key strength of the company. These strengths can be interpreted based on the above ratios and discovered by reading through the annual report and the 10K.

Threats and Risk Factors

Discuss the key factors which might adversely affect your decision to invest in the company. These factors be interpreted based on the above ratios and discovered by reading through the annual report and the 10K.

Recommendation to Buy/Not Buy

Make a recommendation on whether this is good investment based on the above analysis.
Attach both financial ratio exhibit page and the key financial statement (Not the entire 10K or annual report) to your two page company analysis
Financial ratio exhibit is separate from the 2 page company analysis
Ratios should be presented in the correct order. All numbers used to calculate the ratios should be presented in the spreadsheet
