Your team will come up with a buyer persona, develop the value proposition, and sketch your offering. A buyer persona summarizes the key traits of the target market that the company hopes to attract through its branding strategy. This profile serves as an ideal customer for the company and includes information about customer demographics, traits, lifestyle, preferred channels of communication, etc.

I understand that buyer personas often require extensive qualitative and quantitative audience research. I ask you as a team talk to a minimum of 2 potential customers to guide your research. Also rely on secondary research, your intuition and understanding of the target market. Remember that this is a created persona, not a real person. You derive who they are from the information that you gathered from primary (interviews) and secondary sources (websites, references etc).

A value proposition refers to the value a company promises to deliver to customers should they choose to buy their product. A value proposition is also a declaration of intent or a statement that introduces a company’s brand to consumers by telling them what the company stands for, how it operates, and why it deserves their business.

An offering is a description of what your company offers to customers. I ask your team to visualize your offering through a prototype, this could be a hand-made sketch showing how your product works, or it could be an explainer video about how your system or service works. •Demonstrate extensive and thoughtful research into your new idea.

•Draw unique, logical conclusions from research findings, connecting them to a clear and appropriate strategic vision for the company.

•Include and effectively interpret interview data (this can be done through quotes).

•Explain your product or service through simple prototypes. Hand sketch will work. Digitally rendered sketches, webpages (up to 2-pages maximum) or explainer videos showing the product/process will earn extra points.

•Communicate research findings clearly and concisely with formatting that is visually appealing.
