I need help with a History question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.
This week we will start examining the fall of democracy in interwar Germany. First, thisdescribes the “dramatis personae” of political parties in the Weimar Republic. Then we will read , a classic study of how Nazism came to dominate a small town. For this week, please read up to p. 90 (p. 37 of the PDF). The chapters describe the Nazi Party’s rise in Northeim and efforts by other political forces to battle it. How did the Nazis get their first electoral “big break”? What factors made the Nazi Party popular? Who were attracted to the Nazi Party? Who were repulsed by it? What tools did the parties use to compete for votes and support?
Near the end of the document (pgs. 66–74 of the PDF), there is a list of names of the individuals mentioned in the book and charts describing the social and political conditions in Northeim in 1930–1933. Take a look at them as you read the book to get a better understanding of the narrative.
