Wind Farms in Cumbria

A way of preventing this happening Is by using renewable energy. This means that the source of energy wont UN out and It Is sustainable for future generations, unlike fossil fuels which have a Limited supply. They produce little/no greenhouse gases which Is much better for our environment. Forms of renewable energy Include solar energy, hydrophone, biomass, befoul, geothermal energy and most importantly wind energy. Wind turbines generate electricity through this process: the wind turns the blades which then spins a shaft.

The shaft connects to a generator which produces electricity. The UK is an ideal place for wind turbines because we are one of the windiest nations in Europe. Cambric in particular is an ideal place to build new wind farms because it is a very hilly area and it has a long coastline; making the area very windy. There is already a wind farm in the village of Great Rotor and so far it has been a success. It has supplied 2,000 homes and has saved about 8,530 tones/year of greenhouse gases.

It also gives farmers extra income in the area because the wind farms are built on their land. A decision has been made to build another wind farm in Cambric as it has had quite a lot of success. Callback fells is the location chosen for another wind farm. It as high exposed land which means there will be lots of space for many turbines. Some residents of Cambric are against wind farms being built due to several reasons. Some elderly people cannot live peacefully with the level of noise that the wind farms produce, it gives them headaches.

Other members of the community are concerned that it’ll ruin the landscape and will stunt the level of tourism generated, as Cambric is a tourist attraction. However, they won’t need to be concerned with this location. The location is very remote, therefore It won’t cause noise pollution which may bother some citizens. It won’t also be ‘ruining the landscape’ since there was nothing there before hand. Although the area Is remote, you can access It through country lanes, therefore maintaining the wind farm won’t be as difficult to do.

Building the wind farms will reduce the level of greenhouse gases In the atmosphere. This Is a positive step for Cambric. By cormorants this is having a negative impact on the world. Fossil fuels generate most of our Hence this contributes to global warming and is impacting the rest of the world. If happening is by using renewable energy. This means that the source of energy won’t UN out and it is sustainable for future generations, unlike fossil fuels which have a limited supply.

SolarCity Sued by Cogenra Solar and Khosla Ventures

Elon Musk’s SolarCity has been accused of intellectual property theft by Cogenra Solar Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SunPower Corporation, and Khosla Ventures.

In a lawsuit filed in San Francisco on Monday, the parties accused SolarCity of gaining undue advantage of Cogenra’s Shingling technology that helps in manufacturing high-efficiency commercially viable solar panels.

SolarCity and its subsidiary Silevo misappropriated Cogenra’s trade secrets, manufacturing processes and other intellectual property to give themselves a competitive advantage and head start in developing shingled-cell solar modules, Cogenra said in the lawsuit.

SolarCity said that last week it discovered that a former SolarCity employee had unlawfully downloaded confidential information, copied that information to a personal hard drive and then joined SunPower as a senior sales manager.

“Any unauthorized copying and use of this information is a very serious violation of SolarCity’s intellectual property rights so we immediately notified SunPower,” SolarCity said in a statement.

Cogenra’s complaint fails to identify any actual trade secret that Cogenra owns, much less that SolarCity supposedly misappropriated, SolarCity said.

From 2009 to 2015, venture capital firm Khosla Ventures owned about 80 percent of Cogenra, the lawsuit stated.

Last week Tesla said its proposed acquisition of SolarCity could be delayed because of shareholder lawsuits alleging board members breached their fiduciary duty.

Traditional and Renewable Sources of Energy

TRADITIONAL ENERGY SOURCES SIDE BY SIDE RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES: WHICH ONE IS MORE LIKELY TO WIN THE BATTLE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING DECADES? Assuming that the energy is a vital asset for the human being, it’s really hard to answer this question, because both of them have advantages and disadvantages. When I read for the first time this question I immediately thought that renewable energy sources would win, but then I realize that it can’t, because this kind of energy is not able to generate all the energy that we need.

Having said that I don’t mean that the traditional energy sources could win, because, as I said first, it has disadvantages, such as pollution and the fact that the sources are exhaustible. I think we should consider them together with their advantages and disadvantages. The traditional energy sources, although they are exhaustible sources, they are present in huge quantity in the world and they can generate all the energy that we need. Instead, renewable sources are inexhaustible, but, as I wrote before, they can’t generate all the energy we need.

Both of them need a big place where can be installed. As a result, both have a considerable impact on the environment. Others disadvantages for the renewable energy sources are that sometimes these resources are not available and the cost for this energy technology is more expensive than the other. After summarizing very briefly the advantages and disadvantages of the two types of energy sources, I can conclude that traditional and renewable energy sources can’t separate, they will continue to co-exist if we want to generate energy.

The main problem is how the human being uses the energy. Unfortunately, in some countries, people don’t know the right value attributed to energy use. Doing so they consume more energy than what they need. People don’t realize that with small steps daily they can help save energy and save money, too! I think that every government have to invest money in that kind of education, and then invest more money for the renewable energy sources if we want to breath better air, not forgetting that the renewable energy sources cannot generate energy without the support of the traditionals one.

Renewable Energy Persuasive Essay

Renewable energy With the development of the economic of the world, the use of renewable energy becomes an extremely significant topic. The single form of energy, take the case of oil ,cannot fulfil the ecological balance and the sustainable development of energy. As a result, the alternative form of energy emerged as the times require. The aim of this article is that why human have to utilise renewable energy. Firstly, renewable energy comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind and rain, which can recycle.

Apparently, this energy is more environmentally-friendly than oil which always contaminates air. However, some of them does not discharge greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which does not increase the risk of global warming, and there seems to be plenty of research findings to confirm this. Accordingly, using renewable energy is the guarantee of the healthy development of ecosystem. Besides, fossil energy is limited,in contrast, renewable energy is not exhaustible.

This kind of energy is controlled by some countries which own this plentiful resources and the demand for fossil energy such as oil is high. Consequently, the price of fossil energy could increasingly high, which caused energy crisis in history. This point is best illustrated with the example of the energy crisis in 1973 due to the fact that the main oil-producing countries adopted the policy stopping exporting the oil. Therefore, renewable does not cause this problem.

The third reason is that renewable energy promotes energy security of supply and reduces dependence on imported fossil energy. It is widely recognised that explosion would be caused by fossil energy. Obviously, the safety of renewable energy is higher than fossil energy. On the other hand,it could put a strain on fossil energy if renewable energy was not depended, which means the dependence of renewable is inevitable. In conclusion, this article summarize the reason of developing renewable energy from three pats of protecting environment, recyclability, and security. ALICE
