City College of San Francisco TCP Sequence Analysis
I’m trying to study for my Computer Science course and I need some help to understand this question.
1.Capture one “complete TCP sequence” from open to close to an website of your choice.
Website Suggestions (in complexity order):
- example.com
- your home gateway
- google.com
You are doing HTTP to which website (1/2/3) ________________________
2. Plot commands and seq/ack number of the entire connection (open/data/close) for the pipe from client to server and for the pipe from server to client. My suggestion is to do two plots. Take picture(s) and put it in report.
口 client to server pipe done
口 server to client pipe done
3. Add window size to the previous plot(s) and include picture(s) in your report.
口 client to server done
口 server to client done
4. if you find any interesting behavior from your capture/analysis, put it in the report (and highlight it so I will notice it). Especially if you’re doing a more complicated website (e.g. cmpe.sjsu.edu), it is likely to have non-trivial transactions (e.g. pipeline, cumulative ack).
