Bullying!, most people don’t find this a big deal. Most parents think that their kids will get over it. But in reality they are being destroyed into billions of pieces. First of all what is bullying? According to the dictionary, bullying means “seek to harm, intimidate, or coerce”. Bullying is deliberate harming another person intentionally. Bullying involves a misuse of power in a relationship, bullying is usually not a one-off-it is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated over time, Bullying involves behaviour that can cause harm – it is not a normal part of growing up. Bullying can happen anywhere, in person or online aka , physical or social e.g. relational. Bullying could be obvious or even worse hidden.
The issue of bullying has gotten a lot of attention in recent years, but it is something that has always been around, and something some most likely still think is “one of those things.” Problems with self esteem, and has even be a contributing factor to suicide. But like many social problems, simply declaring that bullying must stop is not enough. It is important to ask ourselves “What are the causes of bullying?” because it is only with this knowledge that we can ultimately reduce this behaviour.
The psychological effect of bullying include depression, anxiety, low self esteem, self-harming behaviour, alcohol and drug use and dependence, aggression, and involvement in violence or crime. Research has consistently shown that bullying can have a negative impact on how well children and adolescents rate of bullying in New Zealand are very high compared to other countries. New Zealand has not been reducing bullying in primary school. This negative has been evident since 1994
No one deserves bullying in their life. First of all block and report the bully if you are being cyber bullied, Tell someone how you feel but they must be very trustworthy. To sum it up, bullying is the biggest crime you could ever commit. It is almost equal to murder, it can affect you at home and school in our daily lives. Hangman is great. It teaches us by saying the wrong things you could end someone’s life.
