3.What is Descartes’ goal? Explain
– Descartes goal was to find “unshakeable truths”. Unshakable truth means truths that are in the very core of life and doubt cannot shy them away. Descartes was an a mission to find unshakeable truths because there was so much that can be doubted in this world. Especially when it comes to memory and our memory can be faulty and lead to false representations. Descartes doubted everything he knew just so he could find “indubitable truths”. Once he found those truths, he was able to base his life on truths that stand and is not faulty truths.
