1) Assess your essay’s progress in meeting the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) by answering how and where you met each SLO, quoting any relevant passages from your essay; then score your essay out of 12 and note any areas you think are missing or that you’d like to strengthen. 

Critically read, analyze, compare, and evaluate complex literary texts with the objective of identifying a text’s genre elements and its premises and assumptions in various social, historical, cultural, psychological, and/or aesthetic contexts.

Plan, write, and revise thesis-driven arguments to suit a variety of rhetorical situations, including interpretation, evaluation, and analysis, supporting them with a variety of appropriate textual evidence and examples and demonstrating use ofcommon literary terms and appropriate conventions of academic discourse and literary analysis.
Find, analyze, interpret, and evaluate primary and secondary sources, incorporating them into written work using appropriate documentation format without plagiarism.

I met this SLO by incorporating  multiple writings from Unit 1 and offering a reading of the film A Better Life through the lens of Rios’s analysis in “Multiple Manhoods,” which involved comparing texts and examples and examining various historical and cultural contexts. You can see this, for instance, in the body of my essay when I make the point that…[insert quote from your essay–in other words, quote yourself making these moves]
