Question 1: The normative narrative is that Muhammad started his ministry when he was forty years old, and that he married Khadijah when the latter was forty years old. Please explain those reservations.
Question 2:President Trump has been asked to open a conference on Qur’an and Hadith research. In order give a speech that is meaningful, he has asked YOU to explain to him the main differences between the Qur’an and the Hadith. He already knows that the Qur’an is seen as God’s word, and that the Hadith is not. You therefore have to fill him in on other aspects. Please be brief.
Question 3:A guest lecturer has come to tell the class about Islamic Law. While delivering her speech, she begins to choke on the gum that she is chewing. A student rushes to give her the Heimlick maneuver. He succeeds, but is so strong…or the lecturer is so fragile…that she suffers a broken rib. She is taken to hospital and dies. Her family sues the student. Based upon what we learned about Islamic law, IF YOU WERE THE JUDGE, what would be your verdict? Explain the reasoning behind your decision.
Q4.IN hadith, some narrations are considered “authentic.” Does that mean that they are actually authentic insofar as being absolutely concordant with truth and reality? Explain the reason for your answer.
