Diverse perceptions on high school compensation demonstrate that they are paid well albeit shifting perspectives don’t suggest they are progressively qualified contrasted with educators in different dimensions. Their work incorporates encouraging understudies from the ninth grade to twelfth grade since they have represented considerable authority in one branch of knowledge.

They merit better remuneration since, fundamentally, an educator assumes a critical job in human advancement arranges by building interest, shrewdness, and learning in one’s life. The motivation behind why educators merit better pay include the way that they are in charge of showing explicit subjects which are differentiated, for example, history, and exercises that include requesting undertakings, for example, exchanges, exhibitions, addresses, and examinations.

Leaving the Nest of School

Going into college one of the main thing I looked forward to was moving out of my parents home. I always thought how cool it would be to be on my own and to have no one around to tell me what to do or when to do it. In fact “leaving the nest” is an actual term. “Leaving the nest or moving out refers to the notion of a young person moving out of the accommodation provided by their guardian, fosterers or parent.

Such a move can be motivated by various factors, including a desire for independence, the discovery of a more viable location and/or practicality. Some cultures actually view leaving the nest as one of the key milestones in the transition from teen-hood to becoming an adult besides obtaining employment and getting wedded”.

This is one of the first transition you’ll make so of course it can be scary. Your basically on your own with the exception of having roommates. For most, your parents raise you so they cook, clean, do your laundry etc. Now your out on your own trying to figure out how to make a way. This was probably one of the biggest challenges for me.

I remember after spending all day in class I would want to come home to a nice home-cooked meal and just go to bed. Well reality sure came knocking on my door, the only home-cooked meal I would be eating is one I cooked. Going off to college can cause a little anxiety so I have found ways to lessen the homesick feelings.

For starter, get a couple of pictures of your family, friends, pets, anything that you will be leaving behind that will be greatly missed and frame it. Put these pictures all around your room, so you have constant happy memories with people you love the most,. Surprisingly, when I had a bad day these pictures lifted my spirits.

Even if you have s special stuffed animal, pillow, bring it with. Make your new apartment more homey so that you feel like your at home while staying there. Another important thing is make time to talk to your family! I would talk to my grandma once a week and FaceTime my mom every night while away in school.i sent my parents college shirts from the school I was attending and once they received them they sent me pictures.

This was one of the best feelings, talk about feeling proud! If you had certain traditions at home it’s also fun to try to recreate them in college. Another important thing is to invest in you. When I say this, I mean to stay focused on what’s important like school but also be open, you’re going to meet new people and discover new passions.

Use this time away from home to open up, discover the world in a different view them before. These things really helped me keep my mind off of the fact that I missed my parents so dearly. Staying active which you sure will be from homework alone will also help distract you. “Remember, your parents miss you as much as you miss them, but they know this is a wonderful time of growth and a new sense of respect. Also, Have fun celebrating your adulthood while you’re learning away from home!” (BedVoyage) .

Educational Setting in South Carolina

Every school starts from a baseline that creates traditions and remarks. These tradition started with passion that the people build year after year. Each and every educational setting holds internal and external factors that shape the environment. Within each school we did an analysis called the SWOT; looking into strengths, weaknesses, opportunity and threats to the educational growth and determine causes and efforts for improvement.

This is when a businessman looks deep into the understanding of the four classifications and creates a plan for development.

We previous looked into an educational setting located in South Carolina named Beaufort High School home of the Eagles. After we performed the SWOT we did a second analysis called the gap and need analysis.

When we examine the gap analysis we are looking into the steps that are needed to make changes to get to our desired state of wants and goals. Within the educational setting of Beaufort High school we looked into the characteristics that factor into the performance and the events of the current situations that the school is facing for improvement.

The purpose of the gap analysis is to make sure that the educational setting (high school) uses its resources to the best ability to avoid low potential rates. The gap looks at directions, possessions, outlooks, organization and the technology resources. The need is a technique used to determine what or who needs to be trained within the organization. It looks deeper into finding that does not fit within the element of growth to make the perception greater.

Let’s take a look back at the educational setting we briefly mentioned prior Beaufort High school in South Carolina. We discussed that Beaufort high school help strengths being it is located in a military town and has great word to mouth communication. The weakness were low income rates, low staff rates and minimal traffic ways.

We can a gap here due to the way our resources are being used being that it is low funding; we can plan for growth by paying attention to this. The opportunities we found that have gap space were room for growth, and historical means. The analysis were found for this growth would be due to the training we could use to have specialized classes.

The threats that were found in the gap that allow for potential development were the climate changes, drug use and low income. We can find ways to supply our resources to better these factors to create the best environment of the school.

To plan for next year we needed to look into each category of factors in the school. When you make a plan you want to look at aspirations you have, what dream are you looking to find? The dream we want for Beaufort High school is to become a home for the students, to build the trust from within the community and create an environment that is growing positively.

We looked at the stakeholders of the school being most importantly the students and came to the conclusion that what they need to growth is comfort and trust. In order to build that we came to agreements that we need to get the students involved. A great way for us to do this was by coming up with spirit weeks themes per grade level.

This could allow for the students to expand there creative side and show personality that normally would be hidden. We wanted to do this design to create a bond though the student body to the faculty by sharing the memories and to show that you can be yourself any day. We also agreed that building a community student ran center within the school that opened before school hours and allowed students to get material that is needed would help with a trusting bond.

The materials would be donated by the parents, staff and faculty for those enrolled in the school. Our third idea of growth in the new school year was to have parents’ community meeting once a month that would allow for the parents to raise any concerns that they may have. This would allow for the tension to be broken by sharing idea parents may have about the community and see what possible growth the parents may want.

The parents are the second largest stakeholder because they are the ones responsible for the students, they guide the children. If the parents feel involved and in-tuned with the school and their child’s life an alliance can form. One of the greatest factors that we looked into for the funding issues the school faced was how can we build funding with technology. We determined that technology is becoming a major part of our daily lives including schooling.

By having technology in the classroom many students can complete school work that they may not have access to at home. This could also lead to teachers having more access to the material that is needed verse having to wait to print things out, it is easy and quick access. In the long run having the technology needed in the classroom can also allow for versatile teaching so we could be able to cross train.

Within in every educational setting we want to create the best bond, environment, tactics, growth and traditions for the years to come. In order for us to do this we need to run an analysis on the internal and external schooling environments. As an educational setting we focus on the students, parents and community and how we can further them.

We want to look into the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and the gap that those are missing so we can come up with a game plan to develop a strong foundation. The gap and need analysis looks into the SWOT and determines what trainings are needed and changes to create a healthy environment.

As a college student you view the university or college you attend as home. We all want to live in a positive, enhanced, and growing environment. Inside of a college or any school for the matter has as background and story to tell. The students create that story by starting traditions, making plans and acting on them. The parents play a major role in the growth of school and community by their participation.

In module four we looked at the aspects of the SWOT analysis determining the strengths, weakness, opportunity, and threats of the school. To be honest growing up students view a school by the sports team and extracurricular. We see it as a fun going, party filled, when is my next assignment due world.

In the SWOT analysis we view characteristic that most who don’t work in a school would look upon. It allowed myself to really take a look into the school I was working as a Child Service Professional. Working in that setting I was able to see what factors targeted the child specifically whose case I was looking over.

This module allowed myself to realize that the school setting itself plays a role into the actions of the students, the demeanor that they pour out each day. I was able to look into how the community affects the school- it can be the income, location, word to mouth perceptions. The community place a major role in the perception of the school and many base the school solely off of this.

They see it as what shops are around here, what sports we can do, is there a beach, we view materialist items over educational. The people are a major factor when it comes to viewing a school, when we start a new school or move to a new area we only know what we are told, which starts our first perception of the school until we can create our own experience for ourselves.

These two modules allowed for myself to understand that everyone starting from a local business to a concerned parent all the way to the principal create the educational dynamic that makes the schools name.

High Five in High Schools

I connect with some people using a positive non-verbal communication gesture in high school, a high five. A high five is a friendly and neutral action that occurs when two people simultaneously raise one hand and slap the upraised palm of the other person. High fives are seen as a gesture of interaction that celebrates togetherness. The high five can have wide effect on difeerent people.

A high five is symbolic for several of the Franciscan virtues including brotherhood, joy, acceptance, service, and peacemaking. Variations of the high five include “up high”, “down low”, and “air five” –where the hands of the participants never touch making it look like they are going to have contact.

This form of non-verbal communication can offer positive feedback for students. The high five gesture can be seen as a greeting, praise, compliment, congratulations, or celebration. A high five touch can help students perform better and feel good about themself. This hands-on connection can tell a teammate, classmate, teacher, and friend that they are important and special. It is a sign of approval and respect.

Classmates can be seen around high school offering each other a high five. A teacher can be greeted with a high five. When a friend says he  accomplished something he didn’t think that he could, a high five compliment is appropriate. This example convey personal attention and positive emotions. They make people smile and it creates a healthy environment.

The majority of high fives in shigh school given are in the athletic arena. A celebrational high five is more energized, and exciting than that of an encouragement high five. In praising, both people are celebrating the accomplishment of one but with the same enthusiasm. When playing on the football field,a lot of high fives are exchanged.

A touchdown, a good reception or a nice defensive play can all be recognized with a high five gesture. When playing baseball, defensive catch, or a safe slide into a base are causes for a high five. When a free throw shot is made or a slam-dunk is made, you see the players rush over and acknowledge the accomplishment with a high five touch. These mutual actions show camaraderie, create team spirit and high energy.

A high five is used to pick someone up when they might be struggling. This is when athletes may need a teammate the most. The emotionally down athlete may not have made the tackle or may have hit into a double play. Or, the disappointed basketball player that missed the game-winning shoot as the buzzard sounded. This may cause that player feels that they have let the team down. It feels good to give a gesture that means, “It’s all right, I believe in you”. This connection earns trust, creates team bonding, and builds relationships. This positive act can help the player perform better in their next competition.

The high five gesture is more then slapping the palm of another person. The action of the high five creates a sense of togetherness. The physical connection communicates trust and promotes positive reinforcement. For me, performing the skill of the high five gesture has power and is something I believe in. It gives me a meaning of service.

Socially, it can put some students at ease. It can bring them together and bridge gaps. The spirit of a high five in high school represents many of the Franciscan virtues including brotherhood, acceptance, and peacemaking.

The Program of Peace Builders of the High School Programs

Over the years the Rialto police department has had its fair share of crime within the city of Rialto. Since the year 2006 the amounts of serious violent crimes within the city of Rialto have decreased. Such crimes as homicides, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults were on an up rise until the community demanded the Rialto police department to do something about the serious crimes affecting the moral and social economics surrounding the city.

To get a clear understanding of the amount of annual violent crimes within the city of Rialto are as follows. The number of violent crimes in 2006s annual total report was 708, in 2007 the annual total was 747, in 2008 the annual total was 559, in 2009 the annual total was 542, in 2010 the annual total was 497 and the last annual report for 2011 was 480 serious violent crimes reported by the Rialto police department.

The majority of the cities violent crimes took place in the community identified as area 2. This area is located east of Lilac Avenue and north of Foothill Blvd. One particular community within this area was known as the Willow-Winchesters.

The Willow-Winchesters had about 160 neglected condominiums. The Willow-Winchesters had the highest number of police calls annually costing the cities tax payers over $160,000 a year. The Willow-Winchesters where built in the 1960’s with a similar goal as hope through housing.

The Winchesters would provide affordable housing for first-time buyers with low-income. However, as families began to relocate every unit was turned into a rental with some having absentee landlords. This created gang violence, health issues, and safety violations for the city. This caused the community to force the Rialto police department to provide safety for the schools within this area.

Eisenhower high school is adjacent to the Willow-Winchesters, and the elementary school is just a few blocks north of the Willow-Winchesters creating an un-safe environment for students to learn as well the community as a whole. As a result the city of Rialto decided to reconstruct the Willow-Winchesters.

From this, the Rialto police department made it a priority to get involved and save this community. As stated above the crime started to decrease during the year of 2007. However, the success of the reduction in crime within this community may be contributed to the partnership with the Rialto police department and the National Community Renaissance.

The National Community Renaissance (National Core) is accredited as being one of the largest community developers. National Core is a non-profit organization along with its Hope through Housing foundation located and operated through various cities within the United States. This non-profit organization provides affordable living for low-income families.

They also provide quality affordable low-income housing for seniors. National Core’s hope through housing foundation has joined forces with the Rialto police department since the year 2007.

Hope through housings foundations long term goal is to improve the neighborhoods affected by crime, and poverty, along with providing students with the necessary tools to help students perform well in and out of school. Hope through housing provides the climate which affects the social economic behavior(s) of a neighborhood or community. Hope through housing acquired approximately $1 million dollar grant to implement a nationally accredited violence

Prevention program. This program known as peace builders incorporated a curriculum into the high school programs as well as K–8 after school program. This investment is important, because the newly renovated Willow-Winchesters, now known as the Citrus Grove condominiums are still in a gang and high neighborhood.

“Since Citrus Grove is located directly adjacent to Eisenhower High School, students at the high school benefit from the tutoring, computer lab, mentoring, and leadership and confidence building activities offered through the program”.

Law enforcement deals with various community related problems, depending on the areas. However, law enforcement must continue to work with community problem solving organizations to develop ways that minimizes crime. Programs such as National Core and hope through housing foundation that gets grants to help fund various programs and projects that support problem areas.

Working as an employee with hope through housing for over three years has allowed one the opportunity to work directly with the Eisenhower high school students and the Rialto police department. One has shared in the success and progress of area 2s community within Rialto.
