HIST 4005 DVU Wk 4 Chinese American Relationship in the 19th Century Discussion
I’m working on a History question and need guidance to help me study.
This week, we’ve been discussing mid- to 19th century, including the Civil War. America is in a time of turmoil at the 100-year mark after establishing independence from Britain, and in Chapter 18 of the textbook, you briefly read about the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. Please review the Week 1 Lesson and discussion about the ethics of a historian and writing like an historian. Then, as you study like a social historian this week, please review the following documents and video about what is referred to as The Chinese Question. Write a two- to three-page essay that answers the following question: When you study these documents, how do you understand the relationship between the Chinese and Americans in California in the late 19th century?
Please review these documents before you begin crafting your response.
(You’ll need to do an Internet search on your own to access the first four documents.)
