Professional Involvement As Teaching Staff

I have been working as a full-time lecturer at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Since August 2016. Also, I have worked as a lecturer at Rishiraj Institute of Technology Indore, India after completing my Bachelor’s degree. As a lecturer, I am teaching courses in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, Engineering Economics, Six Sigma and Lean Operations, and Advanced Production & Scheduling. Also, I taught courses of Electrical Engineering as Power Electronics, Control Systems, Power Systems, and Instrumentation. While pursuing Ph.D., I had been teaching Industrial Engineering and Management, Operation Research, Probability, and Statistical Analysis, as well as Advanced Engineering Economics.

I have been developing homework assignments, and lecture presentations, organizing guest lectures from management and industry folks, and scheduling industrial visits for students. The class capacity ranged in size from 25 to 120 students containing in-class and distance students. I have been using Blackboard e-learning systems, Distance education network systems and other technologies for teaching purpose. Teaching Assistant – While pursuing Ph.D., I served as a lead teaching assistant for the Industrial Manufacturing and Systems Engineering department of The University of Texas at Arlington from Fall 2013 to May 2016. I have been fortunate to assist the following courses: Probability and Statistics, Advanced Operation Research, Advanced Engineering Economics, Advanced Production and Inventory control, Facilities Planning, and Design Analysis.

I had received the prestigious Carrizo Oil and Gas Fellowship Award for pursuing Ph.D. studies. Additionally, I was awarded Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fellowship as well. Mentoring – As a full-time faculty at the University of Southern California Los Angeles, I am responsible to guide and mentor graduate and undergraduate-level students’ major projects. While working as a doctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Arlington, I was responsible to manage Radio Frequency Identification Device Lab’s activities. Moreover, I was engaged in conducting Lab experiments, preparing lab budget plans, planning upcoming lab projects, and ordering required equipment for lab and also writing and submitting research grant proposals.

Furthermore, I have assisted the students in their projects and helped them develop research methodologies. Also, during my masters at Indian Institute of Technology, I was fortunate to supervise undergraduate students as well. I have been assigned to teach courses on major areas of Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain Management. Engaging myself professionally as a Teaching Faculty, Teaching Assistant, and Mentor have been remarkably successful. The roles and responsibilities associated with teaching, accompanied with my undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and faculty position experiences helped me to become more innovative. In short, my philosophy is to encourage an ambience that sets: enthusiasm, life–long learning, exploring business opportunities, organized study, student and teacher accountability, and collaboration with Industries and Academia.

I am passionate for management and engineering, and I look forward to teaching both traditional courses in Supply Chain Management and developing new courses as per the latest developments. The experience and knowledge that I have gained will foster overall development of students’ skill sets and help them achieve their professional goals. I will devote to integrate my teaching beliefs, principles, and interests into fascinating learning practices. As a faculty member, I would be interested in mentoring a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Operation Research, and Industrial Engineering. I wish to engage myself in developing more specialized courses by giving software training for solving practical problems. The streams of Data analytics, Logistics Management, Radio Frequencies Identification Devices (RFID) Technologies, Advanced Production and Inventory Management Systems, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Management, Simulation Techniques, and Advanced Regression Analysis offer many opportunities for the development of interdisciplinary cutting–edge courses.
