PSYC 21 CCSF Childhood Obesity Issues of Middle Childhood Discussion
I don’t understand this Psychology question and need help to study.
After reading Chapter 7, what issue of middle childhood are you motivated to discuss? For this discussion, discuss whatever you want…anything goes as long as it’s a topic from Chapter 7, and you include:
- The reason you picked the topic. What motivated you to write about your topic? (2 points)
- Explanation of the topic. What is your topic all about? If it’s a concept, provide the definition. If it’s a theory, describe the central ideas. Then add more of whatever you want about your topic. What you write should expand upon what the textbook already teaches everyone about it. So, find at least one scholarly source* (besides your textbook) on the topic and use it to teach us more about your chosen topic. (6 points)
- Connection to everyday life. How does your topic apply to everyday life? Provide examples illustrating the applicability and usefulness of the information. For example, does the information help you better understand something about everyday life? Or, is there a way in which people can use the information in some way, such as at work or while interacting with others? Does the information apply to human relationships in some way? Can it improve communication or reduce interpersonal conflict? Developmental psychology can be used in everyday life in numerous ways, so let your imagination run wild. Be specific; explain what you mean. (9 points)
Respond to at least one classmate (3 points) by the time the discussion ends on Thursday, 10/15. In your response discuss something new you learned from your classmate’s posting.
Take this assignment to Rock Star level: In addition to discussing something new you learned, you can earn up to 5 points of extra credit if you also provide an example of how your classmate’s topic applies to everyday life. Be sure not to repeat the applications or examples already shared in the discussion, and be specific in your explanation. Please label your extra credit as such so it’s easy for me to identify. Thanks, Lifespan Rock Star! 😁
