Rethinking Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination

This paper will focus on the theory of egoism and when to apply the theory in the work environment to avoid sexual discrimination.

1. Based on the normative claims of the egoism theory, I will demonstrate that employees in organizations must be familiar with their unique sexual needs and sexual misconduct to avoid the fear of sexual harassment.
2. I will demonstrate that the psychological claim of the egoism theory shows that any form of dating can lead to sexual liabilities, which can cause a company to incur large sums of legal fees.

The issue of policies to protect employees against sexual harassment and discrimination will be discussed in detail.

1. Based on the ethical and psychological claims of the egoism theory, I will show that it is against the principles of the egoism theory for an organization with imperfect knowledge of the sexual needs of employees to discriminately punish only the male sexual offenders.
2. An assessment of the sexual harassment policies of organizations shows drastic deviation leaders engage in pursuing the core goals of the organization, leading them to uphold gender discrimination.
3. That is especially true when organizations take sides with women and denounce men as out of place based on the argument that men have numerical strengths over women.

The study is to prohibit sexual conduct that is detrimental to the well-being of male and female employees leading to sexual harassment.

I will demonstrate in the context of the minimalism concept of the egoism theory that self-interest, which is based on the obligation of the organization which formulates policies to prohibit sexual harassment at the workplace could serve as a strong deterrent against the increasing legal costs resulting from sexual harassments.
2. I will show that companies fall short of applying the principles of the theory of egoism to mandate other employees to punish others instead of restructuring the organization and implementing policies that help to reduce incidents of sexual harassment.
3. Policies, when appropriately implemented, clearly define the moral duties and the self-sacrifice required for each employee to avoid causing harm to others.

I will discuss the use of the egoism theory to sanitize the workplace from sexual discrimination laws.

1. That will be in the context of the psychological egoism, minimalism egoism, and psychological egoism theories, based on the argument that both men and women take personal responsibility to conform to laws of sexual harassment.
2. That could control sexual stances, discrimination, harmful sexual conduct, and other patterns of sexual discrimination without the use of intense and often discriminatory campaigns and laws.

The teleological and altruism elements of the theory of egoism when combined could enable managers, campaigners, and experts of sexual discrimination at the workplace to campaign against the evil of punishing men instead of putting in place non-discriminatory rules and shift the paradigms to use of fair policies.

The rule is to use all elements of the egoism theory to sexualize the working environment from being hostile to either the male and female employees.
