We are all familiar with the name RiteAid. RiteAidmade headlines when they announced that they would no longer sell tobacco products in its 8,450 stores in Fall 2016. This was not an easy decision since RiteAid had anticipated big losses in revenue as a consequence of this decision. So why take this step? How can a company make a decision in favor of reduced revenue? Does a company not exist to maximize its profits? Would you have made such a decision if you were a businessman?
