Task: You are required to design an effective job advertisement for the purpose of recruiting Manager Academics of your respective campus. Assume that the ad. will be placed in local newspapers in Karachi. The ad. must fulfill all aspects of the AIDA plan as discussed in the text and the online lectures. You may mention the address of Iqra University, Human Resource Department, Main Campus, for sending applications and CV, etc. and include a suitable deadline for receiving the same.
When designing the job ad., keep the seven C’s of communication in mind. Try to make the job ad. simple – but attractive. Include a basic job description and salary/benefits package without going into unnecessary details. Use your common sense. You may include graphics, if appropriate. Please avoid gimmicky approaches and garish designs. IU is a professional institution so keep that in mind. Do NOT include any information or images that may violate our cultural norms.
Give free rein to your imagination. Use the gray matter that God gave you. Be creative. You may derive ideas from the Internet, but do NOT copy-paste images or text. Other students may do the same – so your ‘original’ contribution may be eclipsed or considered as plagiarism.
The ad. should be of average size. Word limit must remain between 200-400 words. Lengthy submissions will be severely penalized in terms of marks. Remember: Quality is more important than quantity.
Grading Criteria: Your submission will be graded on the following aspects in order of priority:
Priority 1: Creativity
Priority 2: Coverage of all aspects of AIDA
Priority 3: Coverage of all seven C’s of communication
Priority 4: Writing Mechanics – use of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, etc
