The College of Science at Prestige University hosts a lecture series of guest presenters in the industry. As the administrative assistant, you are responsible for maintaining the budget, which includes the following expenses: lunches for the speakers and select faculty, printing costs for bulletin board fliers, travel accommodations for one out-of-state presenter per semester, and a gift pen set for each speaker. Your predecessor created a workbook containing expenses for the 2012–2013 academic year; however, it contains errors. You and the associate dean, Samantha Young, will review and correct the workbook. Then, you will merge the two workbooks and accept and reject changes as needed. In addition, you need to prepare the workbook for distribution to the university’s budget office.
