The Major Influence of My Volleyball Coach on My Life
Someone who greatly influeced me was my most recent volleyball coach. He played a very important role in my very first year of volleyball. My coach encouraged me to do my best, motavated me to join my highschool team and his positive outlook was key to making the exsperience more fun.
Firstly, my coach encouraged me to do my best. He belives in my ability and wants me to be the best that I can be. He helps me by pushing me, giving me great advice and asking me to stay after practice to work on things that I may need extra help on. Sometimes his daughter will come to practice to help out too. She is a fantastic all round volleyball player. She made Varsity team in her Freshman year. My coach calls her my big sister.
Secondly, my coach motavated me to go out for highschool season. He prepared me with the skills I needed. He also found out when camp took place and let me know. He talked to the highschool coach, introduced me and even came to the camp to make shore I was trying my hardest and proforming my best. He sends me text and emails to make sure that I’m staying fit and active. He even took me to watch an 18 year old libero, that way I know how I’m supposed to move and how quick the postion should be played.
Lastly, my coach has a very positve outlook on the game. He wants us to have loads of fun but still learn at the same time. He’s always out of his seat cheering us on and making so much noise you can’t even hear the refferies wistle. In our meetings he gives us pep talks, telling us that we can come back nomatter what the score. It could be 10-1 or even 24-15. After every game win or lose we have a gameball. The player that stood out most and made coach say wow. We all have to say something nice about someone and how they played during the match. He just wants us to know that we may loose but we still played great.
So my coach is the one person that influenced me most. He encouraged me, motavated me and made my first season of volleyball fun with his positive outlook. I’m going out for the highschool team and contiuing volleyball with my travel volleyball team. I’m so greatful for my exspirence this year. And I will hopefully get to be influenced by another coach as wonderful as him.
