Thoreaus Idea and Application On the Duty of Civil Disobedience Essay
I’m working on a Philosophy question and need guidance to help me study.
Civil Disobedience Paper
In a 10 paragraph paper (~5 pages or ~1250 words), you will explain, apply, and evaluate
ideas from the thinkers we have studied so far to a contemporary
(within the last 5 years) social or political event of your choice.
Specifically, you must:
- explain one idea from each of the four thinkers we have studied so far
- apply each of those ideas to your chosen event
- argue for the superiority of one of those ideas over the others, strictly at the level of ideas
- argue for the superiority of one of those applications over the others, strictly at the level of reality
Please do not include either an introduction or a conclusion in your paper. Instead, please adhere to the following format:
- paragraph #1 = explain idea #1
- paragraph #2 = apply idea #1
- paragraph #3 = explain idea #2
- etc.
- paragraph #9 = argue for the superiority of one of those ideas vs. the others, strictly at the level of ideas
- paragraph #10 = argue for the superiority of one of those applications vs the others, strictly at the level of reality
