University of Maryland Global Campus Technology, Innovation and Society Questions
I’m working on a Computer Science exercise and need support.
- Develop a working definition of technology and technological change applying the lens of interdisciplinary social science.
- Identify the changing patterns of social interaction and groupings in multiple settings including family, home, work, and leisure.
Students will be expected to write and submit bi weekly journal entries throughout the course, in which they reflect on technology issues that we will address during the course.
In these reflective entries, students are expected to select and discuss four technology concepts covered in the relevant course week’s learning materials. In the journal, students need to define and explain each of those 4 concepts using the course learning materials and to provide for each concept an example from their own experiences or from a recent media report. The goal is to clearly describe the four technology concepts and to link each concept to a real life example as illustration.
Through the journal entries, students will demonstrate their understanding of the issues discussed and use these ideas and reflections to enhance their own technology knowledge and awareness. Students will be required to submit journal entries for 4 weeks of the course.
Each journal should be about two pages in length. In each journal, the four concepts must be clearly identified (e.g. underlined), defined using references to course materials, and explained in 2-4 sentences. The illustrative example for each concept should be 2-5 sentences long and, if relevant, also include reference material. Points will be awarded based on the relevance to the role of technology in society, understanding of the topics and concepts, the real life application, and use of complete sentences and proper grammar.
