University of Oklahoma the Interior of Tender Hearst Emergency Houses Discussion
I need an explanation for this Art & Design question to help me study.
The description: Interior design is among the best-suited professions to address the health, safety, and welfare of people seeking refuge within a shelter. As such, interior designers have a social responsibility to join discussions and assume leadership roles in the design of emergency and temporary shelters.* The purpose of this project is to develop a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution for a residential property that has been developed for emergency housing. You will be designing the interiors for a “shotgun” house located in Lake Charles, Louisiana that has just been hit by a devastating hurricane. The structure is located in a neighborhood further inland from shore, and the exterior of the structure is constructed in the architectural style of Greek Revival. The space you design will serve as a model for additional shotgun houses that will be renovated for emergency housing. Your design must take into account that the inhabitants will have gone through a serious ordeal loosing much if not all of their possessions. The interior of the residence must reflect the historic characteristics of the exterior but allow for modern conveniences, while also helping the occupant(s) heal. You must research design solutions that create a comfortable interior while incorporating clean lines with traditional patterns and a mix of modern and Greek Revival inspired motifs with colors, shapes, textures and lighting that help reduce stress and foster healing.
I uploaded an example of writing. Also, you can see my mood board so you know what of the some furniture, colors, I am using for this project. You will have to write between 140-180 words.
