Utilitarianism Philosophy and Social Ethics Discussion
I need help with a Philosophy question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.
I have 2 questions that need to be like a paragraph long each. Should not be too long a couple sentences is fine.
Question 1 :
Briefly recapitulate the “Problem of Justice” for the Utilitarian theorist. What is one way you think a proponent of the theory might respond to this objection? Do you think this response is satisfactory?
Question 2:
Utilitarianism requires us to be impartial. What does this amount to? In what sense does utilitarianism require that we treat all people equally? In your opinion, is this a positive or a negative feature of the theory?
