Proud Granddaughter of an Imperturbable Old Man in Childhood

Under the hot sun, a ragged man walked in the scorching street. He lurched forward, looking very weak, as though life was being pulled away from him, until he collapsed on the street. He was gasping for breath and the sweat was dripping feebly. At that moment, a dazzling copper coin fell in front of him. He said to the one who threw it, ‘Sir, I am not a beggar.’ ‘But you really need the coin, don’t you? It can keep you alive. ‘Said the man. ‘No, life without dignity is meaningless to me. I would rather die like this.’ The giver shook his head helplessly. The weak man was still sitting on the ground, waiting for the end of life, and he didn’t accept any handouts from anyone, and eventually his life was gone. A person with a warm family will not abandon his dignity because of hunger. The family is one of the supplements, it didn’t have their own success, it won’t lonely on the way in the study, work, family hid lots of wind and rain for you.

My grandfather is 80 years old this year, his face faded the valiant in those days, and there was no smile on his rigid face. Grandpa has been kind and friendly to me since childhood. He was affable but spoke with a sense of gravity. However, now the grandpa has faded the momentum of the year, before the eyes of god was a pair of glasses to block the outline, become a little cloudy. He also no longer as usual, carrying his hands all day to go back and forth in the neighborhood, with them to share the fun of today’s life. Grandpa is a teacher, not famous is also known far and near. He loved to write poems and words so much that he loved them to the bone, so much so that my grandfather asked me to write good Chinese characters when I was young. However, every training I just hurried, do not think.

When my grandfather asked me to write well, he also taught me how to write ancient poems from time to time. Years passed quickly, now grandpa has calm every day, he will go to the neighbor’s house every day, but sometimes lying in the rocking chair, sometimes staring at the TV, sometimes reading a book, but no matter what grandpa is doing, his eyes always reveal a kind of memories of the past. I wanted grandpa to go back then, to bring back that very active old man. But that interesting, though boring time has gone forever, years inadvertently took away grandpa’s previous years, gave him every day endless miss. ‘Yeah, grandpa, he’s getting old.’ When I thought about it, I realized how much time I had wasted on that strictly silent day. He began to age, he had been almost taken away by the years, and I have not been able to retain any time to share his wonderful achievements. I couldn’t help but regret my powerlessness. He filled my childhood with his own years. But I didn’t become what my grandfather wanted me to be, the proud granddaughter of a straight-faced old man in my childhood.

In order to make up for my confession, I began to practice the Chinese characters seriously. I will pick up the lost years of my grandfather day by day. I firmly believe that one day in the future, I will put together all the pieces. I also go to visit grandpa every day, although grandpa has not recognized the face of the comer, my heart is always thinking: grandpa still remember the meaning of the past profound childhood. Probably not. But this idea only lasted for a period of time, when I saw my grandfather raise himself up and slowly came to the side of the locker, I was anxious to stop my grandfather, but like a stubborn child, grandpa refused to listen to advice, stubbornly opened the drawer and took out a photo. Grandpa stared at the photo for a long time, narrowing his eyes and showing a relieved smile. He almost held the corner of the photo with trembling hands, and said to the innocent girl smiling in the photo.

It is a Sunday, grandpa said today everyone at home, home dirty, we come to a family cleaning! We all readily agreed. Mother assigned tasks, we began to work, even cousin and cousin to help. I put the mop in the bucket rinse, and then twist a few times, and then bent down, front leg bow, hind legs stretched tight, ‘to chi to chi’ to pull up. I put it off very carefully, very carefully, and very hard. Finally, all the dirty things on the ground were dragged clean by me. Grandpa cleans the roof sink. He climbed to the top of the pool along the ladder, and then carefully climbed into the pool, pool space is small, so can only bow his body, rolled up the legs of his pants, sleeves, a hand with cleaning fluid to the pool around the wall and floor spray, hand wet cloth to the wall and floor wipe, but also from time to time with water washed. Grandpa worked very hard, for a while, wet, can not tell is water or sweat.

In the world, your favorite and your favorite is family. Because it is worth, so deep love. No matter how much you suffer outside, your family will give you strength when you lose everything. Even if friends and lovers easily turn their backs on your family, they won’t leave you because they love you. The preexistence practice of fate let us closely huddle together, and become an inseparable family. Even if occasionally we will have a temper with the family, there are problems, we also do not willfully make them sad, because they are family. There will never be irreconcilable contradictions between family members. Family members are the cradle of love, the place to stay, and the haven for us. Whether it is a happy moment or time of distress, we think of the family, the family will be the first time to lend a helping hand to us.

A Praise Note to My Future Self I Am

Dear Future Me,

I do hope that things are going a lot better for you than they are right now. I hope that you are happier and less annoyed with life in general. I hope you are doing work that makes you wake up every morning with a smile. I didn’t mean for that first sentence to be so gloomy. I’m doing well considering this is my first semester in college, which is said to be the hardest.

I admit that adapting here has been very hard, especially when you lose your best friend who you thought would be there to help you through it all. How is he doing, by the way? Has he called? What is he doing now? Apart from the hard adaptation, I would say that I am doing better in college than I expected. All my classes are pretty easy except for one that I am convinced is going to be DEADLY for me. Sorry, that was a bit dramatic…., but seriously, anatomy and physiology is by far my most difficult subject. I regret not taking this subject in high school, even if it was only an elective. I feel like I am sinking in this class.

Everyone else seems to be okay except me. I am in a nursing course, which is also very intimidating. Most of the people in the class know each other because they take other classes together. I know only one person in this class and he is doing very well in his exams. I have asked him to prepare me for the next exam where I need to score 75-80 points to be able to get a C. Though in all other classes I am doing very well 🙂 So there is something to smile about. Chemistry is given much easier than I expected. But public speaking is probably my favorite subject. I like Professor Defoss. She is so open and easy to talk to and my classmates are all very nice.

Even though I absolutely hate the night classes that last two and a half hours, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this subject. I think English composition is okay. It is a pretty intense class, but Professor Holding is a great teacher. My classes in the freshman program are also pretty cool. We do interesting projects and once they took us out to eat. Mark and Najiba are also easy to communicate with.

They have a very cool attitude, which I really like. The one thing I wish I had done differently in college was NOT working two jobs. I worked at Panera and studied at JumpStart. I don’t how I managed to combine those two jobs for two months (which felt like an eternity). Maybe that’s why my AP grade is not where I want it to be.

This job at Panera caused me much stress than I already had and it wasn’t worth it. I eventually quit after a few more weeks of trying. They kept putting me on the schedule even after I quit two weeks later, and then I told them I wasn’t going to show up for work anymore. I hope they stopped clocking me in because I haven’t shown up for about two weeks now. Anyway, Future Me, I hope you’re now thinking to yourself that all the hard work that Present Me has put in has finally paid off. I hope that if you read this in the future, you smile because you are proud of the person you have become.

Love,

Present Self

Such power – Creative Writing

The lattices unfolded, releasing images and numbers… people became clear, their lives known to me, a child of the mind… daughter of telepathy

Can you see? Can you smell, hear, touch a million senses that aren’t yours? Can you sense a person’s innermost thoughts? See through their eyes, until all you feel is a shell of a world, just one small view of the complex image you know is there.

Look around, with your inner eye; a whirlwind of images, sounds, words. Faces stare in the vortex; old voices test new phrases; a smell revives a stranger’s memory. How do you hold it all? Whose feelings are real? It could engulf you, this power, the helplessness of the feeble minds you enter, until your cry enough! rings through so many heads…

You can bury yourself in one mind, or open up to the cacophony of the world. What surfaces? More complex than the physical world; thoughts can scatter to dark corners, or collect in the forebrain; how much can you read in the blackness that mere mortals cannot see? Subconsciousness. In there a part of us lurks, suspicious of everyone, waiting till our defences are torn to shreds and we can show our true nature, our first strength.

Some people snap early; succumb to pressures, do what the voices say. Life can seem easier when you don’t have control… frustrating for some, for many it is simple release. How then can you cope? The responsibility, the knowledge – gleaned from others – of the consequences you might unknowingly inflict. That word seems nonsensical: you, the mind reader, the gifted, not knowing something. But if you don’t – can’t see the future, should you still control people? Do you? Do you learn from yourself as well? Either you become ruthless, manipulative, or terribly afraid of your gift. How could such a child grow normally, with those thoughts – unsaid, but not unheard.

Decisions. They fill our lives, and the child sees. Yet do we truly decide for ourselves? We are influenced by every experience we have, every choice we make. We become the product of the life we lead; but somehow we made those decisions, often early on, about our future. Somewhat paradoxical is this world; clearly personality does not spring into existence, yet it influences itself in an unending spiral. No two choices are the same size, without ever becoming unimportant.

Suppose, a most whimsical choice, someone wears light, loose clothing – on the very day a fast car whips past, catching on it and tearing… everything could have any impact. A normal human cannot foretell the future; but we can imagine. If you see a thousand people’s dreams, and learn their hopes and experiences, read a million thoughts for the future; is that not a style of precognition? Intentions are clear and what the normal person does not think of may be obvious to the next one along; you could change people’s lives!

You could change your own life.

You must choose. You have power; knowledge, predictive ability and intelligence; you must choose whether to help others… or yourself. You could have the world. When you can see what others want, need, expect from you, will you play up to it; or twist their thoughts, even their world?

You look through a thousand eyes, and see how a thousand worlds could be better. How they could affect each other. Having this feeling from birth – this weight of knowledge, this heavy understanding; you may perhaps be bitter. You ask yourself again why something happened, when you could have prevented it.

The child looked about him, his face pale and calm…

He knew the answers instantly for they were not his own.

His eyes never shifted, they focused on his work,

His answers coming fluidly although his mind would jerk.

From one head to another, the little boy did pry…

His eyes skimming patterns that meant so much to his third eye.

No one knew this was his talent, not math or science, but the ability to know,

Know what others were thinking, and that’s how he did not grow.

He plundered and stole his way right to the top,

Telling people what they thought… his treachery unseen.

The compliments were many… yet he was alone, trapped in his own lies,

And that is where he stayed until the day he died

Can normal people comprehend how a telepath’s mind would be shaped? If the “gift” comes later in life, how tempted would a person be by power, tempted to make decisions for others, or just to help… a little more than is necessary?

The darkness in your own soul may be more difficult than another’s… people lie to themselves, you thought you were above that, but you’re still one of us. Dark undercurrents sway emotions and surface as fits of depression, anger, violence… then regret. You watch as our emotions surge, fighting back your own. A normal teen? No… a thousand normal teens. And you cannot tell a soul, for there are institutes for mad people like you… they would not understand.

Do you dream? Do you scream when, released at nights, your mind flits back and forth; thoughts unstructured, pieced together from other brains:

…why …hurt …need …but …not …pain …remember…

and the images flicking, picture after picture, so fast, so quickly gone, old friends, places, a deathbed, a favourite dog, a tree which conjures sorrow… a true nightmare, impossible to decipher so much pain. The world itself is the nightmare; why can you not put it to rights? But there are days without torture, days when the sun shines and you find a happiness to feed upon. You drown those who are hurting out, listen only to the sunshine and peace in a child’s head.

Somehow… eventually… you piece together some sort of education… learn to select what you open your mind to; how much easier it would be, were you not alone of you kind. A teacher, a real teacher, who understood… now that would be something…

Concentrate now. One mind at a time, please. No damage must be done. This man, read him, but learn the taste of your own thoughts; you know his prejudice is wrong. Don’t just take, add of your own. Think for yourself, or be locked away.

Would you?

So many people so frightened, so scared of being “disappeared” – you pick up that fear, but – an idea! Couldn’t you… change the minds around you? Are you able to change thoughts, after reading them? Influence minds without saying a word… This is why your power inspires fear; no one knows how much you can control. Maybe all you need is the knowledge, the knowledge of what people want to hear. You would never be locked away, so long as you listen, and speak those magical words to convince them.

This is a curse, you think-feel-sense-absorb. You are destined never to be alone, do not understand the search for companionship. All you want is solitude, an empty mind. They would have thought you insane, had they known the fiery maelstrom in your head. A child cannot think without words, and you had so many, so many… one of the first things you deciphered was not to be different. Different is scary. But of course, you were smart. You met smart people, and gained their “smarts” too. You understood anything a tutor told you – almost before they spoke… necessarily, with the “gift” comes intelligence; or your mind could not cope with the data flowing so unhesitatingly. With the gift comes cunning. You are – different; and powerful. You are a world healer… or a destroyer.

This is the most rapidly and effectively to shape our harasser. It’s Like a piece of white cloth, which will be characterized by us to be white or black. In one moment, the family also plays an important role in the lives of our future plans. This is because we need support and assistance in planning our future. If we plan our future alone, at a certain time we might skidded off the runway we want. “If you are friends with a blacksmith, torn shirts and we will contact with sparks and social partners also play a role and will have an impact in our future planning.

This is so because at the sometimes easier to be affected by your social partners in an action or behavior because it has principles, values, and identity matching. Not wrong for us to hang out with our friends, Just do not be until you missed or mistaken in planning and determining our future. Therefore, to address this matter, you must know the background of each of your own social partners in order not swayed by them and made a mistake in planning your future because your future is in your own hands. Goals help give you direction, as they guide you towards achieving the life that you want.

Concluded that ourselves playing an important role in planning the future of our own to achieve this goal before the rice into porridge. If we own less attention to our own future, we will certainly be difficult to do. Moreover, we must be applied with a simple lifestyle and not to show off not wasting. Moreover, let us not love in debt or spend more than our own ability as this is also one of the factors that prevent us to plan our future. Therefore we need to plan carefully so that every thing we want to do in the future goes as leader Mahatma Gandhi said, think for tomorrow, but act today.

Writing Paragraphs

Should boys and girls be in separate classes? 2. Should the government place a tax on Junk food and fatty foods? 3. Should students’ textbooks be replaced by notebook computers? 4. Pretend you woke up one day and there were no rules. People could suddenly do whatever they wanted! Would this be a positive or negative outcome? Answers (jot notes): 1. No because… A. When they’re out of college, and they have a job, it’s not going to be separated by gender.

They need to learn how to communicate with the opposite gender. B. It will Increase more Judgment between genders. . For Example when you were a child you thought the opposite gender has some type of diseases except you will think that through most of your school years and this may cause a lot of misunderstanding between men and women. C. I believe If a child has been going to school with the opposite gender this child will grow up not know how to respond when they do come into contact with the opposite gender. . The opposite genders might start to think that they are better or smarter than the other gender which could cause conflicts between each other In the future. 2. No because… A. People would still buy, I. Example Even though government has raised prices on tobacco and cigarettes people are still buying them b. Government shouldn’t tell people what to eat. Let the people do what they want. C. Everyone shouldn’t have to suffer due to some people being overweight. 3. No because… A.

If all the student’s assignments, and textbooks, and other data is on the computer and the computer is lost, stolen, or all of its data somehow gets erased then the student’s marks will suffer drastically. B. People may use computers inappropriately, and since the devices are very distracting students may not listen to the teacher. . A lot of people get headaches when stare at a computer screen for a long time and using computers the whole day is a long time. D. This could lead to a generation of people who rely on computers, and they may not be able to function without computers. . Negative because… A. People will no longer be able to differentiate between bad and good b. People may decide to start doing bad things. 1 OFF to the teachers, they probably wouldn’t finish their work and that may cause them to suffer in the future. C. Crime rates may also possibly increase as people would know hat if they were to do something bad there would be no punishment as there are no rules. Answers (paragraph form): 1. I don’t think that boys and girls should be placed in separate classes. This may cause increased Judgment about the other gender.

For example when you were a child you thought the opposite gender has some type of diseases except you will think that through most of your school years and this may cause a lot of misunderstanding between men and women. I believe if a child has been going to school with the opposite gender this child will grow up not know how to respond hen they do come into contact with the opposite gender. The opposite genders might start to think that they are better or smarter than the other gender which could cause conflicts between each other in the future.

Also, when they are out of college, and they have a Job, it’s not going to be separated by gender. They need to learn how to communicate with the opposite gender. These are the reasons why I think that boys and girls shouldn’t be separated into different classes. 2. The government should not place a tax on Junk food and fatty foods. First of all, the government should not be telling people what to eat. Just let the people eat and do what they desire. I think that people would still buy the Junk and fatty food if their price was increased.

For example when the prices of tobacco and cigarettes are raised, people don’t stop smoking, they still continue to smoke and the same thing would probably happen with Junk food. And last of all, why should everyone be punished and have to pay more even if they are not overweight or obese. For example if you were innocent, but you the police thought you were the person who committed the crime and they punished you, would that be fair? No that wouldn’t be, o are being punished for something you didn’t do.

It’s the same thing with Junk food, why would the people who are not obese and overweight have to pay more for junk and fatty foods. This is why I believe the government should not place a tax on junk food and fatty foods. 3. I believe that student textbooks should not be replaced by note book computers. First of all, students may use these devices inappropriately during school time, and since the devices are distracting they may not pay attention to the teacher. For example many students who claim to be using their phones, or ablest for an assignment are actually playing games or testing, not doing the work they are given.

Also, these devices aren’t very trustworthy, and they could easily malfunction or be stolen, and it would cost a lot for them to be replaced. For example if all of a student’s work was on the computer, and the computer broke, got stolen, or malfunctioned then the student’s marks may decrease drastically, and it wouldn’t even be there fault. They would be getting punished for something that was not in their control. A lot of people tend to get headaches when staring at computer screens ND of the day, and this would be shown in their academic progress.

This could also produce a generation of drone-like people who would not be able to function without computers, and people will no longer know how to do anything manually, like writing a sentence on a piece of paper with a pen. I think textbooks should not be replaced with notebook computers. 4. I think having no rules would have a negative outcome. First of all, people would not be able to differentiate between bad and good. These could lead to conflicts in the future. People may start to do bad things.

For example if dents came to school one day and they had no rules, like listening to the teachers, they probably wouldn’t finish their work and that may cause them to suffer in the future. Crime rates may also possibly increase as people would know that if they were to do something bad there would be no punishment as there are no rules. For example if you were really greedy, and you wanted to be rich, then you would probably rob a bank, if there were no rules, because you would know there would be no punishment or consequences. This is why having no rules would have a negative outcome.

Tucker

Tucker is at the least a dreamer and an optimist however, despite his ambitious personality he tends to show anger issues. Detroit engineer Preston Tucker had always been Interested in building cars since childhood. As the war came to a stop he decides to launch the idea of “the car of tomorrow”. Despite what anyone told him he was determined to bring his dream Into a reality. He was extremely optimistic about creating the “Tucker Torpedo” In that he did not let anyone tell him he couldn’t do it. However, after many fullbacks in the building of the “Tucker Torpedoes” he lets is tension go in with bursts of anger.

All in all, Preston Tucker is a dreamer, an optimist and occasionally has outbursts of anger. Throughout the film Tucker is shown to be a man with big dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt once stated “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. ” This was most definitely how Tucker lived his life. He believed in the power of a dream and was driven by it to create a car which was revolutionary safe including disc brakes, seat belts, pop out windshield, an engine in the trunk and head lights which swivel when you turn. Tuckers outlook on life most likely had to do with his childhood.

HIS parents would have supported him In any aspirations he had. Rather than discouraging any of his hopes and dreams his friends and family would have told him that he can do anything he puts his mind to. In the end, Preston was a dreamer who had high hopes. However, in the midst of building the cars, a few problems were thrown his way which caused him to snap in anger. Secondly, Preston showed small outbursts of anger during the movie. For example, when the car is not ready to be presented to the public he punches the wall and is hon.. To be enraged.

This shows that even though he is ambitious and positive he is still human and gets uptight now and then. Another example is when Preston finds out that the contract he signed allows a powerful man from “The Big Three” (Ford, Studebaker and Dodge) to be in charge of the company. During this scene he yells and displays high levels of frustration. Therefore, Tucker has a few outbursts of anger throughout the film but he manages to stay positive to the best of his ability. Lastly, Tucker Is strikingly optimistic. According to Dry.

Jason Sell “Optimism Is what alps us deal with unexpected change, crushing stress, and inevitable disappointments. It’s what prompts us to learn from mistakes rather than feel defeated by them. ” Tucker shows many optimistic views in the course of the movie. For example when the radio dieses his car he remains positive and believes it will still be a success. Even though Tucker is acquitted on all charges of theft and fraud, his company still falls into bankruptcy. Rather than becoming depressed that he won’t be able sell millions of cars he says “50 or 50 million it doesn’t matter. The company is over but the dream still lived.

In addition, the final scene Is of Preston driving away sketching an Idea for a mini fridge. All in all, Preston remains optimistic throughout the course of the film. In conclusion, Preston Tucker Is a dreamer, an optimist and occasionally has outbursts of anger. He has big hopes and dreams for the future. Despite what anyone says, when he has a dream he goes all In and doesn’t let what people say affect him. Nevertheless, he occasionally had a frenzy of anger when a towards the positive. Brian Thomas Littered once said “Shoot for the moon and if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. “
